HVAC in Chesapeake

Locally owned, serving all of Chesapeake.

Ductman HVAC is a locally owned heating and cooling company serving Chesapeake from our office in neighboring Virginia Beach. We repair, maintain, and replace air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, mini splits, and ductwork across the city, and we’re one of the few local companies that still works on geothermal systems.

Our technicians diagnose the whole system before recommending anything, and they’re paid for their workmanship, not their sales. If your system has life left in it, that’s what you’ll hear.

We serve every part of Chesapeake, from Greenbrier and Western Branch to Deep Creek, Great Bridge, Hickory, and Fentress.

Around Chesapeake

Every part of Chesapeake, and what its homes tend to need.

A townhome in Greenbrier and a farmhouse in Hickory might as well be in different states, as far as their HVAC is concerned. Here’s what we tend to find across the city.

  • Greenbrier and Indian River

    Greenbrier, Indian River, Oak Grove

Established subdivisions and townhome communities, many built from the 1970s through the 1990s. Crawlspace ductwork and aging second-generation systems are common, and townhome dryer vents often run longer than they should.

  • Great Bridge

Great Bridge, Etheridge Lakes, Cahoon Plantation

Larger subdivisions where many original systems from the 1990s and 2000s are reaching the end of their life. Repair-or-replace decisions come up often, and bonus rooms over garages that never cool are a frequent complaint.

  • Hickory and Fentress

    Hickory, Fentress, Pleasant Grove

Acreage, custom homes, and the larger lots where geothermal systems are more common. Detached garages and workshops often need their own heating and cooling.

  • Deep Creek

    Deep Creek, Dock Landing, Gilmerton

Older housing with a mix of split systems and package units, and crawlspace ductwork that has had decades of moisture to work on.

  • Western Branch

Western Branch, Hodges Ferry, Taylor Road

Established neighborhoods with crawlspace duct systems and many homes on their second or third piece of equipment.

Chesapeake homes

Two very different halves of the city.

Most companies treat Chesapeake as one market and arrive with one answer: a new system. But the problems in a 1978 Greenbrier ranch and a Hickory property with a geothermal loop have almost nothing in common.

In the older neighborhoods to the north, the most common comfort problem we find isn’t the equipment at all. It’s crawlspace ductwork that has spent decades in a humid space: crushed, disconnected, sweating, or never sized for the system it’s attached to. Replacing the equipment on top of that duct just moves the problem.

In the south, it’s often the opposite: specialty equipment that most companies don’t service, on properties where a failed unit gets quoted as a full conventional replacement. We work on both, so we diagnose what’s actually there instead of what’s easiest to sell.

  • Everyone was respectful, a pleasure to work with, and they got the job done in a timely fashion with a great quality of work. My house heats even better now than before. 10/10 I absolutely recommend them.

  • Furnace went out on what seems like the coldest day so far this year. Chris answered our call and promptly sent out a technician to review the issue and provide an estimate. They were able to order and install the part quickly for a reasonable price. I would definitely call them again if we had another HVAC issue.

My Greenbrier home has rooms that never cool. Is it the AC?
