Not sure it’s time?
Make sure it actually needs replacing.
A lot of replacement quotes are written before anyone has finished diagnosing the old system. A failed capacitor, a refrigerant leak at one fitting, a defrost board, a flame sensor, or a crushed duct can all look like a system that’s finished, and none of them require new equipment.
So we find out what actually failed before we talk about replacing anything. If a repair buys you real time, that’s our recommendation. If replacement is the better use of your money, you’ll get both numbers side by side and the reasoning behind them.

One system for heating and cooling, sized to be right in both August and January.
-
Furnace InstallationGas furnaces
Standard and high-efficiency furnaces, with the gas work done under our own Master Gas Fitter license.

Specialty systems
The systems other companies won’t touch.
Some equipment requires knowledge most HVAC companies stopped building years ago. If you’ve been told “nobody works on those anymore,” this is where to start.
-
Geothermal ReplacementGeothermal
New equipment on the loops you already paid for, usually with no excavation.
-
Oil Furnace Repair & ConversionOil heat
Repair, replacement, or conversion to a heat pump or gas, priced honestly side by side.
-
Package UnitsPackage units
Single-cabinet systems and gas packs, including manufactured homes.
-
Wall Hung UnitsWall units
Through-wall units, PTACs, wall furnaces, and vertical packaged systems, usually reusing the opening you have.
Five signs a new system is actually the right call.
Here are some common signs, what they usually mean, and when it’s time to replace.
-
The system is past its expected life
Roughly 12-15 years for outdoor equipment in this climate, longer for furnaces and geothermal units. Age alone isn’t a verdict, but it changes the math on every repair.
-
A major component has failed
A compressor, a cracked heat exchanger, or a failed coil on older equipment often costs enough that the money is better spent on something new.
-
It runs on R-22 refrigerant
Production ended in 2020. Leak repairs on these systems have gotten expensive enough to change the decision.
-
Repairs have become a pattern
One repair is maintenance. Two or three in a couple of years is a system telling you something.
-
You’re paying more to be less comfortable
Rising bills, uneven rooms, and a system that never seems to catch up. Sometimes that’s equipment. Sometimes it’s ductwork. We’ll tell you which.
Load calculation & sizing
Getting the size right is most of the job.
A lot of replacements are sized by reading the sticker on the old unit and ordering the same thing. That’s a guess, and it carries forward whatever was wrong with the original install.
We run a load calculation on your house instead: square footage, insulation, windows, ductwork, and how the house is actually built. An oversized system short-cycles and leaves you cold and clammy. An undersized one runs all day without catching up. A heat pump has to be right in both seasons. A geothermal unit has to match the loop as well as the house. Getting the size right is most of what separates a new system that works from one that just runs.
And if the ductwork is the real constraint, we’ll say so. A new system on bad ducts is money spent on a symptom.
Our Process
What’s included, start to finish.
Every replacement includes all of it. No line items that show up later as extras.
Before we get there
-
We measure the house
Load calculation, ductwork assessment, and the electrical, gas, venting, or loop checks your system type needs.
-
We pull the permit
We file it, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector ourselves. It’s part of the job, not an errand we hand you.
The day it goes in
-
We haul the old one off
Old equipment removed, refrigerant recovered, and everything disposed of properly. Nothing left by the side of the house.
-
We install and verify
New system set and connected, then charge, airflow, gas, venting, and every operating mode checked before we call it done.
Before we pull out
-
We register the warranty
Filed for you. Most manufacturers require it, and most people never get around to it.
-
We walk you through it
How to run it, what it needs, and your questions answered before we leave.
Repair or replace, plainly
How the repair-or-replace math actually works.
You’ll find rules of thumb online: multiply the system’s age by the repair cost, and if it’s over some number, replace it. They’re a starting point, but they leave out most of what actually decides it.
The real inputs are the cost of the repair against the cost of a new system, how much life the rest of the equipment has, what refrigerant it runs on, what a newer system would save on your actual bills, the condition of the ductwork, and how long you plan to stay in the house. A big repair on a ten-year-old system you’ll keep for another decade can be a good investment. A modest one on a twenty-year-old system you’re selling next spring might not be.
We put those numbers side by side for your house and let you make the call. Most of the time, the honest answer is the repair. When it isn’t, you’ll know exactly why.
Financing & Payment
A new system is rarely a purchase anyone planned for. Financing is available, and we offer a cash discount if you’d rather not finance. We’ll lay out both so you can see the real difference.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I need a new system or just a repair?
It depends on what failed, the system’s age, what it costs to fix, and the condition of the rest of the equipment. We diagnose first and show you both numbers side by side.
How much does a new HVAC system cost?
It depends on the system and what your house actually needs. We run a load calculation and look at the ductwork first, then give you a real figure with the reasoning behind it.
Do you install systems other companies won’t?
Yes. Geothermal, oil heat, package units, and wall units, including through-wall units, PTACs, wall furnaces, and vertical packaged systems.
Do you install all brands?
Yes. We install and service every major brand.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Financing is available, and we offer a cash discount if you’d rather not finance. We’ll lay out both so you can see the real difference.
